The Wallpaper Factory – a guided tour
The first step is to mix the paint, which is then distributed into the trays in the printing machines.
Below, you can see the rollers with the wallpaper’s pattern. They are clearly marked with numbers to print the layers of the wallpaper pattern in the correct order.
A pattern can have between 1-6 different rollers, and in the machine below, each roller is distributed on each step with a number. If you look closely, you can see that more parts of the pattern have been added at number five compared to number four.
When a pattern is printed, a sample is always made to ensure that the rollers and colors match the designer’s original sketch. In the left picture, the finished wallpaper rolls through the machine, and in the right picture, the original sketch is on the left, and the newly printed wallpaper is on the right. If there are significant differences between these, something in the manufacturing process may need adjustment.
Once the wallpaper is approved and has gone through the entire manufacturing process, it becomes these substantial rolls from each production run.
These rolls are then edge-trimmed and cut into wallpaper rolls, and this machine works incredibly fast!
Each roll should have a label with the article number, batch number, and wallpaper information, and then they should be packaged before leaving the factory.
And that concludes this guided tour of the wallpaper factory! We hope you had a pleasant time!
